Letter, 1937 April 1.

A typed copy of a letter from Frederick N. Dickson to Kenneth G. Brill, St. Paul, Minnesota, providing biographical information on Daniel D. Emmett and his composition of the song Dixie while in St. Paul during the winter of 1858-1859. Emmett was one of the originators of the blackface minstrel show. The location of the original is unknown.
